Overview
App Details provides additional information about the applications currently shown by WhoIsConnected and helps you understand their activity and behavior.
App Details is independent of application selection. Use the APP DETAILS button to display details for all applications currently shown.
This feature is available in the Premium Edition.
WhoIsConnected Principle
It is your computer and your network connection. You should be able to see what is communicating and decide for yourself which communications you want to allow.
What should I look for?
Your computer may run applications and background processes that communicate over the Internet without being visible on your desktop. App Details helps you examine this activity more closely.
Pay particular attention to applications you do not recognize, unknown or unexpected parent processes, applications running hidden or creating multiple hidden windows, and applications establishing multiple or unexpected network connections.
Do not ignore activity simply because it happens in the background. If you do not understand why an application needs network access, investigate it.
With WhoIsConnected Premium, you can block the application's networks and continue using your computer. Observe whether anything you actually need stops working. You remain in control and can unblock the application again whenever necessary.
A single unusual characteristic does not by itself prove malicious activity. Use the available clues together to decide what deserves further investigation.
